Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team and support journeyperson electricians on a wide variety of projects. This role is ideal for someone who is hardworking, eager to learn, and committed to developing a long-term career in the electrical industry.
You will work alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical knowledge while contributing to installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Role Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Support:
Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, panels, and equipment.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all WorkSafeBC, company, and industry safety standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Tools & Materials Management:
Support journeypersons in preparing tools, materials, and jobsite setups. Assist with loading, unloading, and organization.
Troubleshooting Assistance:
Participate in diagnosing issues with electrical components and systems, learning from experienced staff.
Documentation & Reporting:
Accurately record hours, materials, and tasks completed. Assist in maintaining jobsite documentation when required.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with site supervisors and electricians to ensure high-quality project execution and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered or eligible to register as an Electrical Apprenticewith SkilledTradesBC.
- 0–3 years of electrical experience (schooling or on-site experience considered an asset).
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to read or learn to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work in various environments, including residential and commercial worksites.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with reliable transportation is an asset.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces as required.
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Completion of Electrical Foundation (Level 1) program.
- Experience working with hand and power tools.
- First Aid, Fall Protection, WHMIS, or other safety certifications.
